Rana Abdelhamid is an internationally acclaimed human rights organiser, and social entrepreneur focused on empowering marginalised communities. In 2022, she ran for the US House of Representatives in New York’s 12th congressional district, mobilising thousands of people and receiving support from organisations and elected officials. As the founder of Malikah, a global organisation, Rana has dedicated herself to building safety, power, and economic empowerment for Muslim women through healing, self-defence, and leadership training. She is the co-editor of Muslim Women’s Stories, and has curated exhibitions such as “Malikah” at MoMA PS1, showcasing the stories of North African Muslim immigrant women. With a strong commitment to global human rights, Rana served as one of the youngest Board Members of Amnesty International USA.
