Omar Offendum is a Syrian-American rapper, spoken word poet, and theatrical storyteller known for blending Hip-Hop with Arabic poetry, captivating audiences across generations and backgrounds.
With a 20-year career, he has been featured on Al Jazeera, BBC, PBS, and the LA Times, lectured at prestigious institutions like Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and Georgetown, and collaborated with cultural institutions such as LACMA, Penn Museum, and The Brooklyn Museum. He has also helped raise millions for humanitarian organizations, including UNRWA, Islamic Relief, and the Syrian-American Medical Society.
In 2022, he performed at the FIFA World Cup in Doha, and his theatrical production Little Syria earned him a spot in The Public Theater’s “New York Voices” commission program (2023-2024). A Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow (2018-2019) and Arab America “40 Under 40” honoree (2020), Offendum now resides in New York with his family—while forever daydreaming about the jasmine-lined streets of Damascus.
