Tulanana is a journalist and co-founder of OnaStories, storytelling and extended reality production business. She heads Ona Stories immersive unit that pioneers the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality in Tanzania. She directed Tanzania’s first Augmented Reality gallery for Vodacom Tanzania. Tulanana was a co-producer of ‘Ghosts of the Present’ – East Africa’s first collaborative Swahili Virtual Reality film 2021. She held Tanzania’s first VR showcase at HDIF Innovation Week, supported by Kenyan VR production house Black Rhino. Her first 360 piece, ‘What Could You Do’, is a reflection piece on sexual harassment on public transport and has been showcased at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival. Her previous roles include Senior broadcast journalist and producer at BBC World Service. Her work focuses on how mobile/emerging technology is changing how content is created and shared on the African continent, featured on TEDxIlala.
