ABOUT
Belal Khaled is a Palestinian artist and war photographer whose work captures human suffering amid wars, conflicts, and disasters. Growing up in Gaza’s refugee camps, he developed a creative vision deeply rooted in the Palestinian cause and the experience of displacement.
Blending Arabic calligraphy with visual art, Belal crafts a contemporary language that redefines Arab identity and amplifies humanitarian issues. He has covered wars and crises across Gaza, Syria, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, with his photography often serving as a catalyst for change — including helping to halt abuses against refugees at European borders.
Belal’s work has been exhibited in over 15 countries and featured by institutions such as UNESCO and Google. He has also shared his vision on TED Arabic, and his photography has appeared in global outlets including Time, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, and Al Jazeera, establishing him as an artist who transforms imagery into a powerful tool for justice.
